Programs

Lectures

Lectures are held in the Jim Carpenter Learning Center and scheduled for selected Saturdays at 1 pm.  FREE for museum members & $5 for non-members.

School Tours

The IMMG tour program consists of a hillside hike and a tour of the museum. Topics include local geology, Idaho mining history, and geoscience fundamentals. 

The museum offers 5 family friendly events each year that  features hands-on activities for all ages. The museum also participates regularly in community outreach events.

Field Trips

Each year the IMMG conducts field trips to geologic and mining points of interest led by university professors, local geologists, and knowledgeable enthusiasts.

Scouts

The IMMG  offers programs  to assist Girl Scouts in obtaining the Geology Patch and Boy Scouts to meet Earth Rocks Adventure Patch requirements.

Resources

The museum provides resources in the form of teaching materials for checkout, research recommendations, and documents for download that complement the mission.
