The Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology is seeking enthusiastic volunteers who love rocks and Idaho history. Join us at 1 pm to learn what’s happening at the museum and to determine if you would enjoy volunteering with us. Operated primarily by volunteers, the museum provides numerous opportunities for adults and children, including school tours, scout tours and badge work, field trips, workshops, lectures, special events, outreach activities and more. Join Girl Scouts and the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology for a fun day getting outside and engaging with the Earth!  Girls will take a tour of the museum where they can explore different types of rocks and learn about the history of mining in Idaho.  They will then go on a hillside hike to Castle Rock (.7 miles RT) to experience Idaho’s geologic features first hand.  Please arrive ready to hike with appropriate hiking shoes and water bottle.…

A celebration of Idaho’s mining and geologic history with activities for children and adults. Activities include 12+ activity stations, museum mini tours, hillside hikes, mineral identification, gold panning, food, and MORE! Every child walks away with a certificate and a bag of goodies!!! $5 Adults, $2 ages 4-17 Free for IMMG Members and kids 3 and younger Sponsored in part by a grant from the Idaho Humanities Council.
