Recent research shows the Snake River Plain was at least partly if not entirely caused by the Yellowstone hotspot. 1pm at Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology\, 2455 Old Penitentiary Rd. Boise\, Idaho 83712. General admission $5\, Museum members free. Pre-registration is required. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/geologic-history-of-the-western-snake-river-plain-lecture-tickets-1991727076301?aff=oddtdtcreator \nContact operations@idahomuseum.org with questions.

Boise\, near the trailhead sign at 7:45am for an 8am departure. This site will also serve as the first stop. We will not be hiking up the trail\, just meeting there for the first stage. Throughout the morning there will be minimal walking—no more than a few hundred yards. Trip ends by 11am. Members of Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology- Free\, Nonmembers of the Museum-$20. Everyone must pre-register. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/western-snake-river-plain-field-trip-tickets-1992316525359?aff=oddtdtcreator \nContact operations@idahomuseum.org if you have questions.
