Lecture: Mining and Ore Processing at the Standard Hill Gold Mine, CA

Standard Hill hosted several early 20th century gold mines in Kern County, California. This presentation will be a description of the various production steps of the most recent mining activity, from delineation of the ore in the pit to final recovery of gold and silver in a form ready for smelting. These same procedures continue to be used on a larger scale throughout the Western United States, including Nevada and Idaho.
About the lecturer:
Dr. Terry Panhorst R.P.G, worked at the Standard Hill Gold Mine in Mojave, California from 1987-1991, where he functioned both as a mine geologist and mine manager.
