Placerville or Bust!

June 1 @ 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Take a field trip to historic Placerville and learn of its exciting past.

Bucky Snyder will begin with a presentation on the history of Placerville, held in the historic Masonic Hall. He will take guests to the Placerville Cemetery where is granddad is buried, tour the historic Placerville museum and, if available, take guests into an historic home. Depending on time and weather, Bucky will take you to his favorite gold-panning spot for a bit of panning. We’ll take a lunch break sometime around noon.

This field trip is sponsored by Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology, 2455 Old Penitentiary Rd, Boise. Please plan to meet IMMG Board President Steve Cox at the museum at 7:30am and depart in convoy at 8. The group will reassemble in Idaho City at the Visitors Center to allow for traffic separations and to provide for a rest stop. If you wish to meet up with the group in Idaho City, please be at the Visitors Center before 9:30am. We will launch from there by 9:30am to make our way to Placerville by about 10:30.

Bring lunch, drinks and snacks. Wear walking shoes or boots. Dress for the weather. Home in late afternoon. $20 nonmembers of IMMG, Museum members $10, plus Eventbrite fee, children are free.
