Robin Solt

Robin has had an almost lifelong interest in geology. He earned a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Idaho in 1993. He has worked in the mining industry since that time, exclusively in gold mines, both epithermal type (near surface hot spring vein gold) and Carlin type (disseminated micron sized gold) deposits. The majority of his work has been logging core, turning exploration drill core into digital data for use in virtual computer graphics programs that model the ore bodies underground. This requires an expertise in: mineral identification, structural regimes, rock alteration types, lithology identification, and related computer knowledge. Robin is a past president of the IMMG Board of Directors.
