Rock Party Rocks!
On September 18, 2011, a celebration of Idaho’s mining, geologic and archeological history with hands-on activities for children, hikes, gold panning, and more!
Activities inside the museum included mini-mining tours, seismometer demonstrations, and question-answers. Exhibits of rocks and minerals, fossils, mining artifacts, meteorites and more were on display for all.
Outside, on the adjacent hillside, experts in the geologic history of the area, including the Table Rock Quarry, led informative hiking tours.
The 2011 Rock Party is supported in part by a grant from the Idaho Humanities Council’s Endowment for Humanities Education.
