BOY SCOUTS ROCK!
The IMMG offers programs to assist Boy Scouts (Cubs and Webelos) to meet geology badge requirements. For more information or to schedule a session, contact John Fortier at 916-878-0776 or email us at email@example.com.
GIRL SCOUTS ROCK!
Girl Scouts of all ages are invited to the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology for inaugural Girl Scout Geology Rocks event!
Sign up HERE for the next Girl Scout event on MAY 5th from 10-11:30 am.
Work towards earning your Girl Scouts Geology Patch from 10 am to 11:30 am. Participants will explore the hillside and learn about important geologic processes, rock types, and the geologic history of our area. Staff Geologist(s) will be available to help scouts with mineral identification and to answer questions about Idaho geology and mining and a career in the geosciences.
This is not a drop off event. Parent/Guardian or troop leaders must be present.
Cost is $2 per girl and includes patch. Cookie Dough may be used (through the council office only), and financial assistance is available. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
Girl Scouts are asked to begin the “Discover” section at home before the event. Attending Girl Scouts will finish the “Discover” & “Connect” sections at the event, and will need to complete the “Take Action” section after the Geology Rocks event.
Can’t make the event? You can still earn the patch on your own or come to the next Geology Rocks event on August 11 or October 6!
