Shirley Ewing (Chair)
Shirley Ewing joined the IMMG in 2004 and within a couple years was on the board and deeply immersing herself in all aspects of the museum. Her late father, Bill Ewing, was one of a small number of Founding Fathers of the IMMG, and Shirley felt she could carry on his love of Idaho mining and geology by volunteering at the museum. Shirley retired from the Boise Independent School District in 2003, having spent the last 19 years as the principal at Pierce Park and later Cynthia Mann schools. After two years as volunteer Museum Manager, Shirley has accepted the position of Chairperson of the Council and will remain active in Museum affairs as the supervisor of internships, advisor to the Operations Coordinator and a general resource for public relations and the Rock Party.

He has had extensive museum management experience with the Wallace Mining Museum in northern Idaho. Troy served on the IMMG Board of Directors before transferring to the Advisory Council.
Robin Solt
Robin has had an almost lifelong interest in geology. He earned a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Idaho in 1993. He has worked in the mining industry since that time, exclusively in gold mines, both epithermal type (near surface hot spring vein gold) and Carlin type (disseminated micron sized gold) deposits. The majority of his work has been logging core, turning exploration drill core into digital data for use in virtual computer graphics programs that model the ore bodies underground. This requires an expertise in: mineral identification, structural regimes, rock alteration types, lithology identification, and related computer knowledge.
Robin is a past president of the IMMG Board of Directors.
